Here is how the H-ITT system works:

Students or audience members use remote control “clickers” to respond to questions posed by the teacher or speaker. Questions can be delivered in many different formats from verbal on-the-fly to computer file content, displayed on overhead or video projectors, or even paper based such as a test or exam. Student responses are saved for later evaluation and grading. All question delivery formats are easily graded either when the question is asked, or later through an answer key. The H-ITT system allows you to get every student involved, every day, making individual evaluation clear and simple. Electronic grading and reporting means no more manual grading quizzes and tests, you have more time to teach, resulting in greater student understanding, performance and grades.

The H-ITT system allows you to collect and grade your choice of content, delivered your way.

The flexibility to use virtually any content such as pre-designed, state standard aligned content for K-12 applications, publishers content through Blackboard exports, standard documents like PowerPoint, Word and Excel, graphic content like JPEG and GIF, on-line web sites and others.

The flexibility to use your delivery method including verbal, chalkboard, projected, whiteboards, tablets, on-line, web sites as well as paper based.

Powerful grading capabilities provides many editing and review tools such as global and individual question weighting, points and percentage grade reports, question/answer analysis including time analysis and more.

Import and export capabilities provide tools for easily building a class roster and reporting individual grades to standard grade books or student management systems.

There are 2 main components to the H-ITT system:
Hardware and Software.

HARDWARE

The hardware needed to implement the H-ITT classroom response system consists of remote control units called clickers, and base receiver units that collect the remote control signals and provide this data to a computer. H-ITT provides both IR (infrared) and RF (radio frequency) clickers and base receiver units. Choosing the right hardware depends on your needs. In general the IR hardware provides for higher security, and costs less, but it is not as easy to use as an RF system. The RF system provides simplicity (truly plug and play) and students do not need to point their clickers to have their response recorded.

All of H-ITT’s clickers provide two-way confirmation to the user that their answer is received by the program.

All of H-ITT’s base units connect to a computer with a USB cable, and some base unit models also provide serial connections.

SOFTWARE

H-ITT’s Software is free and there are no licensing fees. H-ITT provides 2 unique classroom response software packages you can use to implement your interactive classroom.

Analyzer Acquisition

H-ITT CRS is a powerful, cross-platform (Windows, Mac and Linux), flexible software set that allows the instructor to teach their class their way. You can report and grade any on-the fly verbal question or display questions with an overhead visual, or even give paper based tests. All students responses can be recorded, and are automatically graded based on your preferences and weighting. Reports are in CVS (excel) format so exporting to WebCT (Blackboard), or pasting in your gradebook is only a mouse click away.

RXShow Authoring

H-ITTShow is a PowerPoint plug-in, that you can Create, present, assess, grade and report all in PowerPoint. Games, Surveys, team and group activities as well as individual assessments are provided. A wealth of pre-designed PowerPoint slides and clips make it simple to insert an interactive page in your presentation. Multiple digit responses, and multi-level demographic results are easily cut and pasted into your presentation.
